After a storm, two things happen in Treasure Valley neighborhoods. Roofs take damage nobody can see from the ground, and out-of-state crews show up at the door with clipboards.

What hail and wind damage actually looks like

Rarely like a hole. More often it's bruising — spots where hail has knocked the granules loose and left the mat underneath exposed. It doesn't leak today. It ages the shingle fast and leaks in two or three years, long after the claim window has closed. Wind damage tends to show up as lifted or creased shingles along ridges and edges, where the seal has broken even though the shingle is still in place.

What we do

We get on the roof and inspect it properly. We photograph and document everything we find. Then we tell you honestly whether there's enough there to be worth filing — sometimes there isn't, and we'll say so.

If there is, we'll help you understand the claim, and we'll meet your adjuster on site. That last part matters more than most homeowners realize. An adjuster working alone on an unfamiliar roof can miss damage that a roofer standing next to them will point out.

A word on the door knockers

If someone shows up unannounced after a storm offering to handle your claim, ask for their Idaho contractor registration number and check it. Ask where their office is. Storm-chasing outfits follow weather across state lines, collect on claims, and are unreachable when the workmanship warranty matters.
